Henry Sanders, a painter of landscapes figures and animals in oils, watercolour, lithographer and lino cutter. He was born Helmut Saloman in Dresden Germany. He fled Nazi Germany in 1933 travelled to England via Holland. Once in England he attended Hornsey School of Art, 1935-39. He was prehaps one of the most exciting of the later day expressionist painters. He drew much of his influence from Spain and Florence in Italy which he visited frequently. His urgent bold and colourful style and consistent quality of his work is to be admired.
